How to get to MRT Station from Changi Airport?

To take MRT you can approach by foot from Changi Terminal 2 or Changi Terminal 3 to the train station which is located at the basement level of Changi Terminal 2.

From Changi Terminal 1 you can take the SkyTrain to Changi Terminal 3. It won’t take more than 15 minutes.

On the other hand, from Changi Terminal 4, it is necessary to transfer first to Changi Terminal 2 through the 24-hour shuttle bus service to take the SkyTrain. 

You just need to follow the signs “Train to the city” to reach to MRT Station.

MRT opening hours: Daily, 06:00 am - 00:00 am. 

Singapore Changi Airport to city center

If you wish to go from Changi Airport to the city center, you just need to transfer to Tanah Merah MRT Station.

Once at Tanah Merah, please take off the train on the left side and cross the platform to wait for the city center transfer (East West Line towards Tuas Link MRT Station).

On the other hand, you can also get from Changi Airport to Expo MRT Station and then transfer to downtown towards Bukit Panjang MRT Station.

First train leaves at 05:31 am (Monday to Sunday), and at 05:59 am (Sunday and public holidays).

Last train connecting to Tuas Link leaves from Tanah Merah MRT Station at 11:18 pm.

Last train connecting to Pasir Ris leaves from Tanah Merah MRT Station at 12:06 am. 

The trip from Changi Airport to Tanah Merah MRT Station takes 6 minutes. 

From Tanah Merah MRT Station to the city center takes approximately between 25 and 30 minutes.

City center to Singapore Changi Airport

Instead, if you want to go from the city center to Changi Airport, then you need to transfer to the eastbound train at Tanah Merah MRT Station. 

To get back to Singapore Changi Airport you have to transfer from Tanah Merah MRT Station and take off on Changi Terminal 2 stop and pick up the SkyTrain if you wish to go to another terminal. 

Departures: Every 10 – 20 minutes. 

Schedule

First train leaves to Changi Airport from 05:20 am Monday to Saturday, and 05:47 am on Sundays and public holidays.

Last train leaves to Changi Airport at 11:50 pm.

How to purchase your ticket?

You can purchase your ticket on the touching screen of the ticket vending machines at Changi Airport Station.

types of ticket and fares

According to your needs and preferences, there are different kinds of tickets:

Single ticket

A contactless card usable for single and return trips. You can purchase it in the General Ticket Machines at MRT station. Just let you know they’re only available by paying with cash. It can be used 6 times within 30 days from the purchase date, so it is ideal if you’re going to stay for a long time in Singapore. 

Adult single ticket price per ride: $1.16. The total cost for a ride to the city center is $2.80 including an extra $1 for the card. Also, with the purchase price, it is included a 10 cents deposit which is automatically refunded on the third trip. 

EZLink card

In this case, by the EZLink card you will be able to ride several times on trains and buses depending on the stored value in the card. You can purchase it at the TransitLink Ticket offices, 7-Eleven and SingPost outlets. 

An adult EZLink card cost is $12, including a $5 card cost (this last is not refundable). 

Before using it, you will have to buy Top-Up cards from SingPost outlets. 

It is the ideal choice if you stay for some days in Singapore since it is valid for 5 years, so you can come several times before it expires.
